The Ultimate Closet Purge

When my "little sister" called and pleaded with me to clean out her closets, I was baffled. Micayla is the epitome of fashion and has always been on trend. In fact, one of our commonalities (among many) is our love for fashion and insatiable need to shop! I thought this would be an easy task, so I obliged.

Mission Closet PURGE went down today. She reminded me that she had a conference call at 1:30, but I anticipated being done rather quickly. Boy was I wrong!!! Micayla has accumulated clothing from her high school years and was having a hard time parting from her flowered wedges, clogs, and tube tops! Her closet was a frightening array of bright and very tight ensembles mixed in with currents styles, trends, and work attire. She was lacking order and consistency. I went straight to work. We spent hours weeding out the old and very dated pieces, while holding onto the staple and versatile ones, such as solid tanks, blouses, sweaters, collared shirts, skirts and dresses that could serve her well for work but easily transition to weekend wear. I would have to say that the most entertaining part of our afternoon was delving into her containers of shoes! It was as if she ransacked the Spice Girls closet and was about to become their 6th member! Big, bulky, bright wedges, clogs, and platform shoes were strewn everywhere. We never laughed so hard, as I hastily chucked them into bags, before she could change her mind!

By the end of our clean-out, her closets were rejuvenated and regaining some much needed order. Now we could actually see what she was lacking and get to work on her new wardrobe. First up: A whole lot of new shoes!!!
