Sorority Sister Style

Those carefree college days are memories I often yearn for as I am cleaning up vomit at 3 a.m. or pleading with my 6 year old to finish her plate of broccoli. What happened to my Thursday nights at the frat houses and endless escapades with my sorority sisters? Back then our worries were minimal. Winning the coveted game of beer pong reigned among our top priorities! While I can't turn back the clock, social media has afforded me the opportunity to stay connected with my college friends and relish in their successes.

Carly Rabinowitz is among those friends I am so happy to reconnect with. College wouldn't have been the same without her. We roomed together our sophomore year as we both suffered through tackling late night pledging and school work simultaneously. I would be lying if I said we made the most compatible roommates, but we certainly were meant to be friends. Just as long as we both lived in a single! It was during our senior year that our friendship truly flourished. We were both there for each other in times of need. She was my go-to sushi date, shopping partner, and weekend party girl. Carly is beautiful, smart, loyal, and the best "Main Gate" dancer that ever lived! She introduced me to my first Seder and amused me daily with her "Carly-isms." There wasn't a day that went by without her taking a fall and we were religiously late to every event because she could never decide on what to wear. I was playing stylist and consultant even back then! Carly truly is the epitome of fun!

When Carly contacted me I was a bit surprised. She had always been stylish and trendy. What did she need me for? After catching up I realized how hectic her life has become. She doesn't have a minute to spare and fashion ranks low on her list. She described her style as basic: jeans, tees, and flannels. She was tired of looking frumpy. Her mother, who is a classic beauty and fashion queen, demanded an intervention! Thus, here we are.

Between work and planning a wedding, Carly was unable to meet. She entrusted me to pick out some blouses, a trench coat, a moto jacket, a pair of shoes, and some pants. I was hesitant because I have not seen her in years. Sizing would be difficult but I did my best. Carly was easy to work with and very open minded. I quickly understood her style needs and she was excited and eager with my choices. Unfortunately, in the end, we had some sizing issues but she ultimately ended up with a few staples. In the future, I hope to work with her again. This time we will meet in person and find items that fit her body perfectly.

This session will remain one of my most memorable for 2 reasons. 1. I was more challenged this time around. I realized how essential meeting with my clients truly is. 2. I had the privilege and honor of dressing my very first client from college all over again! She was much less indecisive this time around! I am so proud of the women she has become. Successful, determined, and hardworking. Carly is another exemplary and inspiring woman I have been fortunate enough to work with. It's becoming so much more than just fashion. The connections, affirmations, newfound confidences, and self- appreciation make this an advantageous and edifying journey.

"Living better in your skin means living better in your life."

As an avid consumer of Rodan and Fields' clinically tested products for one year before I became a consultant, I truly believe in the value of not only the premium skincare products but also the business model created by Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields. I've worked for Rodan and Fields for 2 years and I feel like I'm finally taking control of my life and doing something that combines my business skills with my love for skin care. Even though my "day" job in pharmaceutical advertising is time consuming, I make the time for my business because it's on my terms and I'm seeing the benefits directly.
